I've come across a free Train sim called BVE 4 and downloaded it to see what it's all about. The graphics and sounds are top notch and everything is free.....the trains, routes etc. At the time of writing this I haven't actually managed to get the train to move (just got the windscreen wipers working) so I can't compare it to Railworks or MSTS. But it feels very realistic as far as simulations go.
