Hi Guys,
Firstly, a big "Thanks" to Phyllis for putting up a page about Battlefield. Nice one!
I want to say that from the beginning (about 4 yrs ago) I wasn't overly impressed with this game and did consider selling it back to gamestation. Thankfully I didn't and after playing "Secret Weapons" fell madly in love with this game.
Now that EA have finally (it's taken 4 years mind) created a decent patch for it- (I say patch, it's that big it's like installing another add-on) the game is now playable at long last and they have eliminated all the annoying bugs and ~lag~ this game once generated and was renowned for. It didn't matter what PC specs you had, it lagged big time.
Big thumbs up to EA for once.
And of course, we now have it running fully on LAN. I say fully because I do mean fully...all the original BF1942 maps, Road to Rome and Secret Weapons and along with the best custom maps created. Yes, a truly amazing combination of maps to choose from. And if that wasn't enough, we also have running the very latest version of Battlegroup42 to get our teeth into. At the moment, it does need a patch to sort out a few small annoyances, but again, quality mods for this truly compelling game.
Update~ (a patch has been announced by the team and are aware of the problems)
Some great LAN battles have been fought recently and surprisingly, thanks mainly to teamwork, we've over-come some incredible odds to thrash the enemy. Note the word "Teamwork", in MoH, it is not a familiar word to us unfortunately.
I'll look into modding the guns, because at times it does seem as if sometimes you're putting 3-4 sniper shots into a guy and he still manages to shoot back and kill you. But I think that is just the game and not a bug. But I'll look into it and see if that is possible.
........and perhaps, giving the sniper a few more rounds of bullets...it's so annoying running out all the time...
But other than these small/minor problems- a great game in every way.
Watch out for more info soon,
-Bobbie-
